The Personal Benefits of The Learning Communities

Learning Community can be much more that just an academic experience. It can be the place you meet your first friends in college. It can be what helps you make the transition from high school to college easier. It can open your eyes to a wide range of scholarly viewpoints about the world around you. It may change the way you view the world and your educational experience. It can be your “safe place” during your first semesters in college where you feel comfortable expressing your own thoughts and ideas out loud. It may be the place where you discover your major or career goals.

Academic Advising

Another benefit of the program is academic advising. Learning Community students have an academic advisor to assist them with questions about courses, scheduling, registration, choosing a major, etc. The academic advisor is trained to help guide the student through their college career.
